*UNTESTED* Orbit 57280 3/4" FPT L-Series Automatic Sprinkler Valve

The Orbit L-Series 3/4 in. FPT automatic inline sprinkler valve (model 57280) is the standard valve in Orbit heavy-duty preassembled manifolds and one of the most widely used inline valves in residential irrigation. This valve has 3/4 in. female pipe thread (FPT) connections on both ends. It is not compatible with standard garden hose threads. If your system requires 1 in. FPT, order model 57281. Note for customers replacing an older green Orbit valve: the L-Series body is slightly shorter than earlier green Orbit models such as the 57100. When swapping in-ground, plan for a short pipe extension to bridge the difference. The 24 VAC solenoid is compatible with all major irrigation controllers. Manual actuation requires only a quarter turn of the solenoid. Do not turn beyond 1/4 turn, as overtightening can unseat the O-ring and cause leaks at the solenoid. Four captured screws stay in the lid during service, and an internal scrubber filter keeps the diaphragm clog-free. The solenoid is field-replaceable without removing the valve body. Rated to 120 PSI. A soft-close design reduces water hammer. Fail-safe operation closes the valve if power is lost, preventing unintended flooding. Made in the USA with global parts.
